| Qur'an is God speech
Muslims
believe that the Holy Qur'an is God's speech (words) and they feel that
they are not doing what they should do to describe and explain Qur'an
thoroughly , although they have some efforts to present it. That because
they feel strongly the influence on their life and they see that Qur'an
suits all generation all the time as it was sent down for them.
So what made Muslims believe that Qur'an is God speech ?
They believe that Qur'an is prophet
Mohammad's great and for ever lasting miracle that because prophet
Mohammad was illiterate couldn't read or write and how could he come
with a book of this greatness and this miraculous aspects. Readers of
the Holy Qur'an will be astonished by the varieties of topics and their
rhetorical methods of presenting the stories and the beautiful
description of the universe with its skies and planets, the earth and
creatures on it and its seas and live in them and the its sky and what
fly in it. He also will be surprised of the précised description of
human body and mankind along the growing up stages and all his life.
They are numerous miracles of all aspects of life makes Qur'an a
distinctive book , so can an Arabian man lives in an environment of a
desert in looks after sheep between its mountains, living in Makkah and
never left it and traveled only two times to Al-Sham, once with his
uncle Abu-Taleb when he was a little boy and another time for trade with
Maysarh when he was in his twenties with companions who knew him very
well and he nor met and learn from any a scholar of any
religion(Christian or Jewish or others) neither Buhayra (who was a Monk)
nor any one else. But when Buhayrah saw him, he knew that Mohammad was
the prophet who was mentioned in the Bible from his characters and look
and he told Mohammad's family about it and warn them from the jews and
protect him so prophet Mohammad did not learn any thing from any body
and God defended him in the Holy Qur'an in Surah Al-Nahl
(وَلَقَدْ نَعْلَمُ أَنَّهُمْ يَقُولُونَ إِنَّمَا يُعَلِّمُهُ بَشَرٌ لِّسَانُ الَّذِي يُلْحِدُونَ إِلَيْهِ أَعْجَمِيٌّ وَهَـذَا لِسَانٌ عَرَبِيٌّ مُّبِينٌ) (النحل : 103 )
(And indeed, we know that they
(polytheists and pagans) say: "It is only a human being who teaches him
(Mohammad)" The tongue of the man they refer to is foreign, while this
(the Qur'an) is a clear Arabic tongue) so in this verse God is belying
them by telling us that the language of the man they refer to is not
Arabic while the Qur'an language is clear Arabic. So how a man like
Mohammad of that reputation and history can come with a miraculous book
from his own , and if it was from him it would has been about the
Arabian social life (the village the Bedouins) and what concerned the
Arabian man at that time ( goat, camel, horse and Arabian tribes and
their problems as rain, shortage of water and other human economical and
political issues at that period of time but when we read the Qur'an we
find that it is a miraculous book in its eloquence, explanation and
inclusiveness of all life aspects , it leads to the best in the general
and personal life, and it is full of family and social guidelines and
rich of political and economical regulations and it full of natural,
medical and astronomical knowledge, it is full of historical and
geographical information, and with all these, it presents them in a
marvelous rhetorical and eloquent methods and in easy flexible not
wearisome way, whenever it is read and in a sole constitutional frame
that suitable for all circumstances of location and time and suits life
changes and developments.
With all these aspects it is
preserved safe contradictions and differences, its parts support and
prove each other and the most wonderful aspect is that its characters
accompanied it along for twenty three years as it was coming down from
God. That is one miraculous side of Qur'an which used to be sent down
according to people's life events occurring at a time, so if it was from
Mohammad, it will come one full book at once, read every time an event
comes up not in twenty years time as it happened. And more over and more
miraculous that God challenged Arabs and Qurayish tribe to up with
something similar to Qur'an or even a chapter or even a verse and it has
been fourteen centuries and no body could come with that and will never
can until the day of resurrection, so the challenge is still exist for
all human, God says:
(قُل لَّئِنِ اجْتَمَعَتِ الإِنسُ وَالْجِنُّ عَلَى أَن يَأْتُواْ بِمِثْلِ هَـذَا الْقُرْآنِ لاَ يَأْتُونَ بِمِثْلِهِ وَلَوْ كَانَ بَعْضُهُمْ لِبَعْضٍ ظَهِيراً) (الإسراء : 88 )
Say: " If the mankind and the
jinn were together to invent(produce) the like of this Qur'an, they
could not invent(produce) the like thereof, even if they helped one
another." Al-Isra 88
Loving Qur'an, believing in it
and getting influenced by it were not only at prophet's Mohammad time
but they continued even after his death and people from all the nations
even non-Arabs accepted and believed in it. As a matter of fact
non-Arabs Muslims today are more than Arabs, so is it logical that a
book from a human gets all this vast continuous acceptance from all
nations . All proofs and evidences show that Qur'an is God's speech
(words) and was not made up by prophet Mohammad. Here are more proofs:
1- If it was from prophet
Mohammad how it comes with a threat and warning concerning himself, he
would have hidden them, God says:
(وَلَوْ تَقَوَّلَ عَلَيْنَا بَعْضَ الْأَقَاوِيلِ . لَأَخَذْنَا مِنْهُ بِالْيَمِينِ . ثُمَّ لَقَطَعْنَا مِنْهُ الْوَتِينَ . فَمَا مِنكُم مِّنْ أَحَدٍ عَنْهُ حَاجِزِينَ) (الحاقة :44-47 )
( And if he had forged a false
saying concerning Us(God), We surely would have seized him by his right
hand, And then We certainly would have cut off his life artery, And none
of you could have withheld Us from punishing him. Al-Haqqah 44-47 And
God says:
(وَإِن كَادُواْ لَيَفْتِنُونَكَ عَنِ الَّذِي أَوْحَيْنَا إِلَيْكَ لِتفْتَرِيَ عَلَيْنَا غَيْرَهُ وَإِذاً لاَّتَّخَذُوكَ خَلِيلاً . وَلَوْلاَ أَن ثَبَّتْنَاكَ لَقَدْ كِدتَّ تَرْكَنُ إِلَيْهِمْ شَيْئاً قَلِيلاً . إِذاً لَّأَذَقْنَا ضِعْفَ الْحَيَاةِ وَضِعْفَ الْمَمَاتِ ثُمَّ لاَ تَجِدُ لَكَ عَلَيْنَا نَصِيراً) (الإسراء: 73-75 )
(And thus have We sent it (the Qur'an) down
to be a judgement of authority in Arabic. Were you (Mohammad) to follow
their (vain) desires after the knowledge which has come to you, then
you will not have any protector or defender against God. So would
prophet Mohammad leave this verse to be read and look at this strong
warning God says: ( And Verily, they were about to tempt you away from
that which We have revealed to you (Qur'an) to fabricate something other
than it against Us, and then they would certainly have taken you an
intimate friend! And had We not made you stand firm, you would nearly
have inclined to them a little. In that case We would have made you
taste a double portion of (punishment) in this life and a double portion
(of punishment) after death. And then you would have found none to help
you against Us. Al-Isra 73-75
If Qur'an was made up by prophet
Mohammad would he leave the previous verses and not hide them from
people. Further more God warns him not to be lazy in conveying God's
message God says:
(يَا أَيُّهَا الرَّسُولُ بَلِّغْ مَا أُنزِلَ إِلَيْكَ مِن رَّبِّكَ وَإِن لَّمْ تَفْعَلْ فَمَا بَلَّغْتَ رِسَالَتَهُ وَاللّهُ يَعْصِمُكَ مِنَ النَّاسِ إِنَّ اللّهَ لاَ يَهْدِي الْقَوْمَ الْكَافِرِينَ) (المائدة : 67 )
"O Messenger(Mohammad) proclaim (the
message) which has been sent down to you from your Lord. And if you do
no, then you have not conveyed His message. God will protect you from
mankind. Verily, God guides not the people who disbelieve in
Him."Al-Ma'edah 67
So, do you see if Qur'an was from
Mohammad? How would he leave the verses that blame him for some of his
actions as in Surah Abasa God says:
(عَبَسَ وَتَوَلَّى. أَن جَاءهُ الْأَعْمَى . وَمَا يُدْرِيكَ لَعَلَّهُ يَزَّكَّى . أَوْ يَذَّكَّرُ فَتَنفَعَهُ الذِّكْرَى) (عبس :1-4 )
The prophet frowned and turned
away. Because there came to him the blind man (Abdullah
Ibn-Omm-Maktoom), who came to the prophet while he was preaching to one
or some of Quraish tribe chiefs. And how can you know that he might
become pure (from sins). Or he might receive admonition, and the
admonition might benefit him.
And also Qur'an tells what intention the prophet has hidden from people in his marrying story of Zaynab bin Jahsh God says:
(وَإِذْ تَقُولُ لِلَّذِي أَنْعَمَ اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَأَنْعَمْتَ عَلَيْهِ أَمْسِكْ عَلَيْكَ زَوْجَكَ وَاتَّقِ اللَّهَ وَتُخْفِي فِي نَفْسِكَ مَا اللَّهُ مُبْدِيهِ وَتَخْشَى النَّاسَ وَاللَّهُ أَحَقُّ أَن تَخْشَاهُ فَلَمَّا قَضَى زَيْدٌ مِّنْهَا وَطَراً زَوَّجْنَاكَهَا لِكَيْ لَا يَكُونَ عَلَى الْمُؤْمِنِينَ حَرَجٌ فِي أَزْوَاجِ أَدْعِيَائِهِمْ إِذَا قَضَوْا مِنْهُنَّ وَطَراً وَكَانَ أَمْرُ اللَّهِ مَفْعُولاً) (الأحزاب : 37 )
"And (remember) when you said to whom (the
prophet's slave zaid bin Harithah) God has bestowed Grace (by guiding to
Islam) and you have done favor to him ( by manumitting him) when you
said to him" keep your wife to yourself , and fear God," But you did
hide in yourself what has God already made known to you that He will
give her to you in marriage) that which God will make manifest, you did
fear people ( their saying that Mohammad married the divorced wife of
his manumitted slave) whereas God had a better right that you should
fear Him. So when Zaid had accomplished his desire from her( i.e
divorced her), We gave her to you in marriage, so that (in future) there
may be no difficulty to the believers in respect of ( the marriage of)
the wives of their adopted sons when the latter have no desire to keep
them (i.e. they have divorced them). And God's Command must be obeyed.
"Al-Ahzab 37
As for talking about the strength
of the Qur'an in specifying the prophet's duties and the importance of
the religion he was sent with to convey and to assure the prophet's
humanitarian character and that he can't benefit or harm a person and he
does not wan any life interest, social prestige or kingship or good
reputation through his message. All these are some of the greatest
evidence that Qur'an is God's words was sent down to prophet Mohammad,
so look at the following proofs from the Qur'an:
1-He was spoken to by the Qur'an to specify his job for the people and introduce them to his humanitarian side. God says:
(قُل لاَّ أَقُولُ لَكُمْ عِندِي خَزَآئِنُ اللّهِ وَلا أَعْلَمُ الْغَيْبَ وَلا أَقُولُ لَكُمْ إِنِّي مَلَكٌ إِنْ أَتَّبِعُ إِلاَّ مَا يُوحَى إِلَيَّ قُلْ هَلْ يَسْتَوِي الأَعْمَى وَالْبَصِيرُ أَفَلاَ تَتَفَكَّرُونَ) (الأنعام : 50 )
"Say (o Muhammad " I don't tell you that
with me are the treasures of God, not (that) I know the Unseen; nor I
tell you that I am an angel. I but follow what is revealed to me." Say: "
Are the blind and the one who sees equal? Will you not then take
thought?"Al-An'am 50
(قُلْ يَا أَيُّهَا النَّاسُ إِنِّي رَسُولُ اللّهِ إِلَيْكُمْ جَمِيعاً الَّذِي لَهُ مُلْكُ السَّمَاوَاتِ وَالأَرْضِ لا إِلَـهَ إِلاَّ هُوَ يُحْيِـي وَيُمِيتُ فَآمِنُواْ بِاللّهِ وَرَسُولِهِ النَّبِيِّ الأُمِّيِّ الَّذِي يُؤْمِنُ بِاللّهِ وَكَلِمَاتِهِ وَاتَّبِعُوهُ لَعَلَّكُمْ تَهْتَدُونَ) (الأعراف : 158 )
Say (O Mohammad " O mankind! Verily, I am
sent to you all as the messenger of Allah- to Whom belongs the dominion
of the heaven and the earth . No God( deserve to be worshipped but
Him(Allah). It is He Who gives life and causes death. So believe in God
and His messenger , the prophet who can neither read nor write, who
believe in God and His Words (heavenly books) and follow him so that you
may be guided" Al-A'raf 158
(قُل لاَّ أَمْلِكُ لِنَفْسِي نَفْعاً وَلاَ ضَرّاً إِلاَّ مَا شَاء اللّهُ وَلَوْ كُنتُ أَعْلَمُ الْغَيْبَ لاَسْتَكْثَرْتُ مِنَ الْخَيْرِ وَمَا مَسَّنِيَ السُّوءُ إِنْ أَنَاْ إِلاَّ نَذِيرٌ وَبَشِيرٌ لِّقَوْمٍ يُؤْمِنُونَ) (الأعراف : 188 )
Say (O Mohammad) " I possess no
power over benefit or harm to myself except as God wills. If I had the
knowledge of the unseen, I should have secured for myself an abundance
of wealth, and no evil should have touched me. I am but a warner, and a
bringer of glad tidings to people who believe." Al-A'raf 188
(قُلْ يَا أَيُّهَا النَّاسُ إِن كُنتُمْ فِي شَكٍّ مِّن دِينِي فَلاَ أَعْبُدُ الَّذِينَ تَعْبُدُونَ مِن دُونِ اللّهِ وَلَـكِنْ أَعْبُدُ اللّهَ الَّذِي يَتَوَفَّاكُمْ وَأُمِرْتُ أَنْ أَكُونَ مِنَ الْمُؤْمِنِينَ) (يونس : 104 )
"Say (O Mohammad) O you mankind! If you are
in doubt as to my religion (Islam), then (know that) I will never
worship those whom you worship besides Allah. But I worship God Who
caused you to die, and I am commanded to be one of the believers." Yunis
104
2- Qur'an ordered Mohammad to follow what was revealed to him God says:
(وَاتَّبِعْ مَا يُوحَى إِلَيْكَ وَاصْبِرْ حَتَّىَ يَحْكُمَ اللّهُ وَهُوَ خَيْرُ الْحَاكِمِينَ) (يونس : 109 )
" And (O Mohammad follow the revelation
sent to you, and be patient till God gives judgment. And He is the Best
of Judges."Yunis 109
(ثُمَّ جَعَلْنَاكَ عَلَى شَرِيعَةٍ مِّنَ الْأَمْرِ فَاتَّبِعْهَا وَلَا تَتَّبِعْ أَهْوَاء الَّذِينَ لَا يَعْلَمُونَ) (الجاثية : 18 )
"And God says: Then We have put you (O
Mohammad) on a (plain) way of (our) commandment (Islamic Monotheism) so
follow it and follow not the desires of those who know not." Al-Jathiyah
18
3-He was ordered by the Qur'an to stand firm and straight by following the religion that he called the people for God says:
(فَاسْتَقِمْ كَمَا أُمِرْتَ وَمَن تَابَ مَعَكَ وَلاَ تَطْغَوْاْ إِنَّهُ بِمَا تَعْمَلُونَ بَصِيرٌ) (هود : 112 )
" So stand firm and straight as you are
commanded and those who turn in repentance with you, and transgress not
(go beyond God's legal limits). Verily, He is All-seer of what you do."
Hood 112
And God says:
(فَلِذَلِكَ فَادْعُ وَاسْتَقِمْ كَمَا أُمِرْتَ وَلَا تَتَّبِعْ أَهْوَاءهُمْ وَقُلْ آمَنتُ بِمَا أَنزَلَ اللَّهُ مِن كِتَابٍ وَأُمِرْتُ لِأَعْدِلَ بَيْنَكُمُ اللَّهُ رَبُّنَا وَرَبُّكُمْ لَنَا أَعْمَالُنَا وَلَكُمْ أَعْمَالُكُمْ لَا حُجَّةَ بَيْنَنَا وَبَيْنَكُمُ اللَّهُ يَجْمَعُ بَيْنَنَا وَإِلَيْهِ الْمَصِيرُ) (الشورى : 15 )
"So to this (religion of Islam)
then call people for and stand firm and straight by following what God
ordained and by abstaining from forbidden deeds, as you are commanded
and follow not their desires but say: " I believe in whatsoever God has
sent down of the book (all the holy books) and I am commanded to do
justice among you. Allah is our God and your God. For us our deeds and
for you your deeds. There is no dispute between us and you. God will
assemble us and to Him is the final return."
4-Qur'an warning to the prophet about the result of disobeying God order God says:
(قُلْ أَغَيْرَ اللّهِ أَتَّخِذُ وَلِيّاً فَاطِرِ السَّمَاوَاتِ وَالأَرْضِ وَهُوَ يُطْعِمُ وَلاَ يُطْعَمُ قُلْ إِنِّيَ أُمِرْتُ أَنْ أَكُونَ أَوَّلَ مَنْ أَسْلَمَ وَلاَ تَكُونَنَّ مِنَ الْمُشْرِكَينَ . قُلْ إِنِّيَ أَخَافُ إِنْ عَصَيْتُ رَبِّي عَذَابَ يَوْمٍ عَظِيمٍ) (الأنعام : 15- 14• )
Say (O Mohammad) " Shall I take
as a God any other than God the creator of the heavens and the earth?
And it is He Who feeds but is not fed." Say: "Verily, I am commanded to
be the first of those who submit themselves to Allah (as Muslims)." And
be not you (Mohammad) of the polytheists (who have partner with Allah
and disbelieve in the Oneness of Allah. Say: "I fear, if I disobey my
Lord, the torment of a Mighty Day."
5- Qur'an guided prophet Mohammad to keep close to his followers who are believers and keep himself patient with them God says:
(وَاصْبِرْ نَفْسَكَ مَعَ الَّذِينَ يَدْعُونَ رَبَّهُم بِالْغَدَاةِ وَالْعَشِيِّ يُرِيدُونَ وَجْهَهُ وَلَا تَعْدُ عَيْنَاكَ عَنْهُمْ تُرِيدُ زِينَةَ الْحَيَاةِ الدُّنْيَا وَلَا تُطِعْ مَنْ أَغْفَلْنَا قَلْبَهُ عَن ذِكْرِنَا وَاتَّبَعَ هَوَاهُ وَكَانَ أَمْرُهُ فُرُطاً) (الكهف : 28 )
" And keep yourself (O Mohammad)
patiently with those who call on their God(Allah) ( i.e. your companions
who remember their God with glorification, praising in prayers, and
other righteous deeds) morning and afternoon, seeking His face:( his
rewards), and let not your eyes overlook them, desiring the pomp and
glitter of life of the world; and obey not him whose heart We have made
heedless of Our Remembrance, and who follows his own lusts and whose
affair has been lost."
All these orders and guidelines for the prophet that repeated in the Qur'an are the strongest proofs that Qur'an is God's words
Some of the logical proofs that
Qur'an is God's words are the latest discoveries. Human writes about his
beliefs and knowledge of his time, so he tells what he has found at
that time, his writings could be true or false, so we will never find a
book of the past without false and full of mistakes of all kinds because
of the new discoveries in all fields. But the fact of the Qur'an is
completely different, it is correct and true in all its contents
although it has been centuries since it was written, this is a proof
that it is God's words who created every thing and He knows all the
facts in their final and true state. God's knowledge and is never
influenced or controlled by barriers of time, location or situation. If
Qur'an came from a human who has a limited knowledge and insight, time
would have abolished it a long time ago as it happens in the future of
every human writings. There used to some knowledge of many things that
was so far incomplete in comparison with human knowledge available today
that because of modern discoveries. So some of the Qur'an miracles:
1- Talking about scientific facts
before they were discovered and it used vocabularies and expressions
acceptable to human taste and knowledge and it was inclusive of modern
discoveries. Some examples of those are the followings:
A-God says in the Qur'an:
(اللّهُ الَّذِي رَفَعَ السَّمَاوَاتِ بِغَيْرِ عَمَدٍ تَرَوْنَهَا ثُمَّ اسْتَوَى عَلَى الْعَرْشِ وَسَخَّرَ الشَّمْسَ وَالْقَمَرَ كُلٌّ يَجْرِي لأَجَلٍ مُّسَمًّى يُدَبِّرُ الأَمْرَ يُفَصِّلُ الآيَاتِ لَعَلَّكُم بِلِقَاء رَبِّكُمْ تُوقِنُونَ) (الرعد : 2 )
" God is He Who raised the heavens without any pillars that you can see." Al-Ra'd 2
And this verse is consistent with what
human used to see in the past, he saw a big world in space built in its
own, consist of the sun, the moon and the stars but he did not see posts
or pillars, the human of modern days will find an explanation of what
he sees that proves that planets are exist in an endless space without
pillars but there are unseen pillars which is the gravity law that keep
these planets in their fixed places.
B-In the Qur'an there is a verse says:
(لَا الشَّمْسُ يَنبَغِي لَهَا أَن تُدْرِكَ الْقَمَرَ وَلَا اللَّيْلُ سَابِقُ النَّهَارِ وَكُلٌّ فِي فَلَكٍ يَسْبَحُونَ) (يس : 40 )
"It is not for the sun to overtake the moon
, nor does the night outstrip the day. They all (planets) float, each
in an orbit." Yaseen 40
Human in the past used to see the stars
moving and move away from their positions after specific time, so he was
not surprised , but modern researches have given this expression a new
look but there is no expression better than floating because planets
Are orbiting in space.
C-And also in the Qur'an there is a verse about the night and the day which says:
(إِنَّ رَبَّكُمُ اللّهُ الَّذِي خَلَقَ السَّمَاوَاتِ وَالأَرْضَ فِي سِتَّةِ أَيَّامٍ ثُمَّ اسْتَوَى عَلَى الْعَرْشِ يُغْشِي اللَّيْلَ النَّهَارَ يَطْلُبُهُ حَثِيثاً وَالشَّمْسَ وَالْقَمَرَ وَالنُّجُومَ مُسَخَّرَاتٍ بِأَمْرِهِ أَلاَ لَهُ الْخَلْقُ وَالأَمْرُ تَبَارَكَ اللّهُ رَبُّ الْعَالَمِينَ) (الأعراف : 54 )
" He brings the night as a cover over the day, seeking it rapidly"
This verse explains to the human
the secret of the night coming after the day, but it has a terrific
indication about the earth axial orbit around the sun which is
considered the cause of the night and day existence according to our
latest knowledge. That is proved by the Russian spaceman Gagarin's
sights which he has seen when he orbited earth, he has seen a rapid
following of darkness and night on the earth surface because of its
axial orbit around the sun.
There are too many explanations of this kind in the Qur'an.
2-One of the Qur'an miracles is what stated about the tip of human fingers in God saying:
(بَلَى قَادِرِينَ عَلَى أَن نُّسَوِّيَ بَنَانَهُ) (القيامة : 4 )
"Yes, We are able to put together in perfect order the tip of hi fingers."
So why did God specify the tip of
the fingers? What is in it? It has finger prints that God's wonderful
miracle, how many humans were and are born on earth? There are no two
persons have the same finger prints. It is a miraculous phenomena but it
was discovered lately. No body knew that at prophet Mohammad's time or
even ten centuries after that time , so it must be that Prophet Mohammad
has received that verse from God and Qur'an must be from God. There are
hundreds of similar phenomenon, and we find someone discover one from
time to time. And as along as we study Qur'an more miracle will be
discovered , that because it has an endless miracles.
And to prove that Muslims did not
know all the miraculous sides of the Qur'an and they knew only part of
them, I will move to another kinds of proofs:
1-The first proof is Qur'an telling about the unknown future (things will happen), I will mention two proofs:
The Qur'an told us that
Aba-Lahab, the prophet's uncle will enter hell which means he will not
believe in Islam and will die as a disbeliever, this man was alive when
this verse was sent down, in spite of that he did no believe in the
prophet's message or even claim that for defamation of the Qur'an
truthfulness. God says:
(سَيَصْلَى نَاراً ذَاتَ لَهَبٍ) (المسد : 3 )•
"He will be burnt in a Fire of blazing flames"
B-The second proof is Qur'an is
telling that the Romans were defeated and they will defeat the Persians
and win the battle. Prophet Mohammad's followers used to challenge the
rivers in Makkah that will happen because they truly believe Mohammad's
message is true, then, the Qur'an truth happened when the Romans
defeated the Persians.
2-What the Qur'an told about the
nations of the past, specially at the time of the prophet when there
were many challenges in Madinah where there were Jews , that resulted to
show the miracle of Qur'an which used to response their false claims as
saying that Jesus was crucified and that he was a God, son of a God and
he was a magician. Also, the Qura'n response to their defamation of
prophet Solomon saying that he was a magician. The Qur'an told about the
previous prophets and the Jews used to listen to what is told about
their prophet Moses and no one dare to disbelieve or object what came in
Qur'an which proves that Qur'an is true.
3- And one miracle of the Qur'an
is its meanings are consistent with each other, its laws are accorded
and they support each other. So If it was not from God, there will be
differences, contradictions in meanings and laws and some of its parts
would show the invalidity of other parts. God says:
(أَفَلاَ يَتَدَبَّرُونَ الْقُرْآنَ وَلَوْ كَانَ مِنْ عِندِ غَيْرِ اللّهِ لَوَجَدُواْ فِيهِ اخْتِلاَفاً كَثِيراً) (النساء : 82 )
"Do they not then consider the
Qur'an carefully? Had it been from other than God, they would surely
have found therein many a contradiction."
4- God promised a guarantee that
He will keep the Qur'an safe and protect it from replacement,
misconstruction and changing , and that what we see today, all Muslims
have the same copy of the Qur'an , so the Arabian Muslim read the same
copy that an Indian, Chinese, American, European or Persian Muslim
reads.
5- The simplicity in reciting Qur'an even to those non-Arabs.
To those whoa are looking for the
truth, The effect of Qur'an influence on Arabs was so great, in spite
of that they were famous of eloquence and rhetoric and that not every
speech draw their attention and moreover they exceeded the hearing stage
to listening carefully to its terms and ask about them and study them
among themselves. All these happened at the time when the challenge
between Mohammad and his call for Islam was at its peak, and that gives a
new distinct for the Qur'an strength and miraculous character and the
story of three Qurashi chiefs )Abu-Sufyan, Abu-Jahal and Al-Akhnas
Bin-Shurayiq) is the best proof of that.
The story began when every one of
them felt that he is attracted to Qur'an , so he wanted to listen so he
went out secretly in the darkness of the night so no one can see him
because every one of the claim that he is objected to Mohammad's message
and how would be the situation if people knew that he is listening to
Qur'an! Every one of them went to Mohammad's home to listen to his
reading while he praying, every one sat in a place where no one knows
what is the other doing, they stayed up till before dawn, then they left
and met in the road and every one knows what the two others did, so
they blamed each other and said not to do it again that because if you
were seen by some of you foolish men , he will suspect something about
you then they went w away. The matter did not end at that point but the
Qur'an effect still so strong and unresistable so they repeated their
act and three times after that they thought that they must promises each
other not to do it again. So If the Qur'an was not miraculous it would
not attract its rivals to listen to it. The matter did not bend at that
point but Al-Akhnas began asking his two friends about their opinion of
what they heard from Mohammad . Abu-Jahal said: what I heard! We and
Bani Abdmanaf competed in nobility, they fed people and we did so, they
carried water for pilgrims and we did, they gave and gave too, till we
became equal , they said there is a prophet from us that a revelation is
revealed to him from heaven, when do we get something like that, I sear
to God we will never believe in or believe it.!
When Muslim numbers began to
increase, one of the most known rivals of Islamic message ( Utbah bin
rabe'a) tried to influence and convince Mohammad to abandon his calling
for the message of Islam –after a request from the Quraish tribe chiefs-
and they give him whatever he wants; money, kingship or women , so he
presented those offers to Mohammad, Mohammad said to him have finished
Aba –Akwaleed, he said yes. Mohammad said listen to me then he began
reading some verses from Qur'an, so Utbah had no choice to listen and he
put his hand behind his back leaning on them listening to Mohammad till
he finished and said to him you listened to what I read and its your
choice. Utbah went to his friends and when they saw him they said Utbah
came with a changed face not the face he went with, the effect of Qur'an
on him was wonderful, that is present in his answer when he was asked
what do you have? He said what I have is that I hear a speech (Qur'an) I
have never heard of something like it, I swear it is not poetry, not
magic or divination. O Quraish people obey me and trust me , leave this
man and what he has so be apart from him , and I swear that there will
be great news of his speech that I heard, so if Arabs got him, others
did the job (getting rid of him) and if he became a leader of importance
of Arabs that is your kingship and honor and you will be the happiest
people.
They said to Utbah we swear that
he(Mohammad) bewitched you by his tongue)speech , Utbah said this my
opinion about him so do what you want to do.
These two examples are enough as proofs the miracle of Qur'an and that it is from God .
So Qur'an is an obvious
miraculous proof in many various point of views as we discussed some of
them. It is miraculous from the terminological , structural, and
rhetorical ways where the terminology leads to semantic, and from the
meanings that were told about God's names and characters and His angles,
and from the meanings about unknown past and future and from telling
about resurrection and from certain proofs and logical reasoning by
giving examples as God says:
(وَلَقَدْ صَرَّفْنَا لِلنَّاسِ فِي هَـذَا الْقُرْآنِ مِن كُلِّ مَثَلٍ فَأَبَى أَكْثَرُ النَّاسِ إِلاَّ كُفُوراً) (الإسراء : 89 )
" And indeed, We have fully
explained to mankind, in this Qur'an, every kind of similitude, but most
mankind refuse accept them and they chose disbelief."
The true miraculous aspect of
Qur'an is its complete perfect law, guarantees happy life every mankind
live on earth wants, and this explains people acceptance, loving and
believing that it is from God Who knows what is for them anytime and
anywhere. So Qur'an came with a distinctive law that convenient for
every human because it fulfill his dreams. And this explains why people
convert into Islam and believing in Mohammad as a prophet and messenger,
and believing that Qur'an is God's words revealed to Mohammad and
because of that there were more Arab and non-Arab Muslims after Mohammad
death and they are in increase because of what they felt of just, mercy
and simplicity in his law and the effect of Qur'an on the life of
people who believe in it and the most important of all points is guiding
people to worship only God- the creator, the All-Owner- and the
disposer of all affairs- without a partner and for that He sent
messengers and sent down holy books, God says:
(يَا أَيُّهَا النَّاسُ قَدْ جَاءكُمُ الرَّسُولُ بِالْحَقِّ مِن رَّبِّكُمْ فَآمِنُواْ خَيْراً لَّكُمْ وَإِن تَكْفُرُواْ فَإِنَّ لِلَّهِ مَا فِي السَّمَاوَاتِ وَالأَرْضِ وَكَانَ اللّهُ عَلِيماً حَكِيماً) (النساء : 170 )
" O mankind Verily, there has
come to you the Messenger (Mohammad) with the truth from your God. So
believe in him, it is better for you. But if you disbelieve, then
certainly to Allah belong all that is in the heavens and the earth. And
Allah is Ever All-Knowing, All- Wise.
And He says:
(وَأَنْ أَتْلُوَ الْقُرْآنَ فَمَنِ اهْتَدَى فَإِنَّمَا يَهْتَدِي لِنَفْسِهِ وَمَن ضَلَّ فَقُلْ إِنَّمَا أَنَا مِنَ الْمُنذِرِينَ) (النمل : 92 )
"And that I should recite the Qur'an, then
whosoever receives guidance, receives it for the goodness of his
ownself; and whosoever goes astray, say (to him) :" I am only one of the
warners•
."
